What do you call it when you force someone to do something against their will? Slavery. Yet this is exactly what the anti-choice movement wants to do – force women to stay pregnant even when they do not want to be.
Nearly half of all pregnancies in the United States are unintended. This is one of the reasons that contraception is included in the Affordable Care Act. Contraception sometimes fails. Rape and incest happen. For all these reasons and more abortion needs to be safe and legal. Doctors who practiced before Roe v Wade passed remember women dying from illegal abortions.
