I really do believe this is all diet and lifestyle related.
In a recent article published by the Associated Press, Lindsey Tanner reports on the discovery of a linkage between autism and obesity in pregnant mothers. She writes:
“On average, women face a 1 in 88 chance of having a child with autism; the results suggest that obesity during pregnancy would increase that to a 1 in 53 chance, the authors said.”
I think we’re finally getting somewhere. I say somewhere because I don’t think we’re there yet, but we’re heading in the right direction. My gut leads me to believe the causes of autism will be tied with the causes for many of our modern diseases: diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. And the causes for many of today’s diseases lie in our diet.
